The Inspiration
I love sci-fi and time travel stories. This work is inspired by the cult classic film that is based on Richard Matheson's novel, Bid Time Return, with music composed by John Barry. Somewhere In Time stars Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour, set in 1912, in a Grand Hotel.
With a similar historic charm and gorgeous architecture, we set our sights on shooting our campaign at Essex House, in NYC.
Jeannot Szwarc, a french filmmaker directs Somewhere in time.
Gracileia plays the Christopher Reeve character who believes she needs to time travel to find her love.
To do this, she needs a TUSK bag.
With fingers crossed I pitched my concept over the phone to Mark Ricci, who headed the Hotel’s PR firm. Luckily, Mark knew of the film, and said YES!
It may have taken a little time, but was well worth the wait. Permission to shoot was approved and the date secured! Their gracious hospitality was next level. Besides providing an all-access pass throughout the entire hotel to shoot as we please, the staff catered a beautiful lunch for our team. It couldn’t have been a better day, Love love love …
